We began working with the National Association of Funeral Directors on their monthly magazine, FDM.  The magazine was already very successful, but the association felt that they needed someone to come in with fresh ideas and vision of how to propel it onward. We pitched a concept featuring a strong masthead, prominent use of large imagery throughout and good use of white space to bring a sense of prestige and grandeur that was missing from the existing product.
